Moby Boat Hire – Refund & Cancellation Policy

We aim to keep our booking process fair, flexible and transparent. Please read the following carefully before completing your booking.


Booking Payments & Security Bond

  • All bookings are paid upfront and include a $200 refundable security bond.
  • The security bond is refunded after the hire, less fuel usage or incidentals where applicable.
  • Fuel is not included in the hire price and will be deducted from the bond following the hire.

Customer Cancellations

  • More than 48 hours before the hire date:
    A full refund will be provided.
  • Within 48 hours of the hire date:
    Refunds are assessed case by case, taking into account notice provided and the ability to rebook the vessel. Where possible, we will offer a reschedule in place of a refund.
  • Failure to attend (no-show):
    No refund will be issued.

Weather & Safety

  • Safety is our top priority.
  • If Moby Boat Hire determines conditions to be unsafe or unsuitable for the Luxrib 19, you will be offered:
    • A full refund, or
    • The option to reschedule to another available date.
  • Weather decisions are made based on marine forecasts, wind conditions and safety considerations and are at the sole discretion of Moby Boat Hire.

Licence & Experience Requirements

  • A valid recreational boat licence is required to operate the Luxrib 19.
  • If a booking cannot proceed due to licence, experience or safety concerns, a full refund will be issued.

Refund Processing

  • Approved refunds are processed via the original payment method.
  • Refunds are typically processed within 1–3 business days, depending on your bank.
